Orientation

You can use Teleprompter Pro in both portrait and landscape on iPhone or iPad, you can rotate the teleprompter text and record video in any orientation. You can also lock to any orientation if needed.

Simply rotate your device to your desired orientation and Teleprompter Pro will auto rotate. If Teleprompter Pro does not rotate, check your device orientation lock.

Device Orientation Lock Important

Teleprompter Pro will auto rotate to any orientation. If the Teleprompter does not rotate to Landscape or Horizontal, then your device orientation lock may be enabled.

Remember to disable the orientation lock on your device, as this blocks all apps from rotating. For example, other apps like Safari and Mail will also be blocked from rotating to landscape while this is enabled on your device.

To disable the orientation lock:

  1. Open Control Center (Swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen)
  2. Tap Orientation Lock button to disable the Orientation Lock iOS disable Orientation Lock

On iPhone, you can enable the Rotation Hold button, which allows you to lock Teleprompter to the current orientation, including Landscape.

This button is hidden by default. To enable the Rotation Hold button:

  1. Go to the App Settings menu at the bottom of My Scripts
  2. Enable Switch OnRotation Hold Button

To use Rotation Hold:

  1. Open any script in Teleprompter Pro
  2. Tap the Rotation Hold button at the top (it will change to a Padlock icon when enabled)

The Rotation Hold button will show different icons:

  • a Rotating Rectangle when Rotation Hold is disabled (the teleprompter will auto-rotate)
  • a Padlock icon when Rotation Hold is enabled (the orientation is locked)

Rotation hold is for iPhone only. On iPad, use your device orientation lock to lock the rotation to your current orientation, including landscape.

Device Not Rotating

If your Teleprompter will not rotate, check your device orientation lock. This is the most common cause of your device not auto-rotating.

Secondly, check that the Rotation Hold shows the rotating rectangle icon if it’s enabled.
