Use a Teleprompter with Zoom on a Mac

You can read from a script using a Teleprompter app on your Mac, while in a call on Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, FaceTime or other video calls.

How to use a Teleprompter while in a Zoom, Teams, FaceTime, Google Meet or other call on a Mac:

  1. Install Teleprompter Pro on your Mac (it’s a free app on the App Store here →)

  2. Open Teleprompter Pro, and type, paste or import your pre-written script/notes that you want to show on the Teleprompter while you’re in your call.

  3. Open your script in Teleprompter, then click Settings Icon at the bottom, then go to Window Settings, and enable Switch OnTransparent Window:

Set the Teleprompter app with a transparent background
  4. Start or join your Zoom call. Maybe start a practice call to test your setup with the Teleprompter.

  5. While in your call or meeting, drag the Teleprompter window over your call. Placing it beside the camera is the best position, so that you’re looking towards the camera as you read:

Drag the Teleprompter over your call on your Mac
  6. You can now use Teleprompter while you’re participating in your video call or meeting on your Mac.
